Mexican Margarita

Tequila, fresh lime juice and triple sec shaken with ice, served in a salt-rimmed glass — Mexico's most famous cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 50ml tequila blanco (100% agave)
  • 25ml fresh lime juice
  • 25ml triple sec (or Cointreau)
  • Optional: 1 tsp agave syrup for sweetness
  • Sea salt for rimming
  • Lime wedge
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a glass; dip the rim in sea salt.
  2. Combine tequila, lime juice and triple sec in a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake hard for 10 seconds.
  4. Strain into the salt-rimmed glass over fresh ice (or up).
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge.
