Irish Coffee

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 40ml Irish whiskey
  • 150ml strong hot coffee
  • 30ml double cream, lightly whipped to soft ribbons
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm a glass with hot water; tip out.
  2. Add the sugar and whiskey; pour in the coffee and stir to dissolve.
  3. Whip the cream just enough so it pours slowly — not stiff.
  4. Pour the cream gently over the back of a teaspoon so it floats on top.
  5. Sprinkle with nutmeg if using.
