Indian Naan Bread

Ingredients

  • 500g plain flour
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100g yoghurt
  • 1 egg
  • 200ml warm milk
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Garlic butter: 50g butter, 3 garlic cloves, coriander

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt with yoghurt, egg, milk and oil; knead 10 minutes.
  2. Rise 1 hour.
  3. Divide into 6 balls; rest 10 minutes.
  4. Roll into ovals.
  5. Cook on a very hot dry pan 2 minutes a side until puffed with charred spots.
  6. Brush with garlic butter.
