Ingredients
- 4 slices thick white bread
- 4 slices good ham
- 100g Gruyère, grated
- For the bechamel: 20g butter, 20g flour, 250ml milk, pinch of nutmeg
- Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Make the bechamel: melt the butter, stir in the flour, then whisk in the milk until thick; season with nutmeg.
- Spread two slices of bread with mustard, then ham and some cheese; top with the other slices.
- Spread bechamel over the tops and scatter with the rest of the cheese.
- Grill until golden and bubbling.
