Ingredients

  • 1 large scoop best vanilla ice cream (or gelato)
  • 1 shot freshly made hot espresso
  • Optional: 1 tbsp amaretto or hazelnut liqueur
  • Optional: toasted hazelnuts or amaretti crumbs to top

Instructions

  1. Place the scoop of ice cream in a small glass.
  2. Pour the hot espresso over.
  3. Add a splash of liqueur if using.
  4. Top with hazelnuts or amaretti.
  5. Eat immediately while the contrast is sharpest.
