Syrian Fattet Hummus

Ingredients

  • 2 pita breads, torn and toasted crisp
  • 2 cans chickpeas, warmed in their liquid
  • 300g Greek yoghurt
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp pine nuts
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Parsley

Instructions

  1. Crisp the pita in the oven.
  2. Whisk yoghurt with garlic, tahini, lemon and salt.
  3. Toast pine nuts in butter; add paprika.
  4. Layer: crispy pita on a plate, warm chickpeas on top, yoghurt sauce drizzled, pine nut butter spooned over.
  5. Top with parsley.
