Salt and Pepper Prawns

Ingredients

  • 400g large prawns, peeled
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp Chinese five spice
  • 2 red chillies, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 spring onions
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Toss the prawns in cornflour mixed with half the salt, pepper and five spice.
  2. Deep-fry in hot oil for 2-3 minutes until crisp and pink; drain.
  3. In a wok, stir-fry the chilli and garlic in a little oil for 30 seconds.
  4. Toss in the prawns, the remaining salt-pepper-spice mix, and the spring onion.
