Ingredients

  • 300g plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 150ml warm water
  • 2 tbsp oil, plus more for resting
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, salt, sugar, water and oil into a soft dough; knead well.
  2. Divide into balls, coat in oil, and rest at least 2 hours.
  3. Stretch each ball as thin as possible on an oiled surface.
  4. Brush with melted butter, then fold and coil into a spiral.
  5. Flatten slightly and griddle in a hot pan until golden and crisp on both sides.
