Prawn Toast

Ingredients

  • 300g raw prawns
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 thumb ginger
  • 2 spring onions
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 4 slices stale white bread
  • 100g sesame seeds
  • Oil for frying
  • Sweet chilli sauce

Instructions

  1. Blend prawns with garlic, ginger, spring onion, soy, sesame oil, egg white and cornflour into a smooth paste.
  2. Spread thickly onto bread.
  3. Press the topped side firmly into sesame seeds.
  4. Fry sesame-side down in 170C oil for 30 seconds, then flip and fry another 30 seconds.
  5. Drain on paper; cut diagonally.
  6. Serve with sweet chilli sauce.

  • Press the sesame in firmly so it sticks.
