Ingredients

  • 250g plain flour
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 300ml warm water
  • Oil for frying
  • To finish: 200ml honey, cinnamon, chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Whisk the flour, yeast, sugar, salt and water into a thick batter; rise 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil to 175C.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry until deep golden and puffed.
  4. Drain briefly, then drizzle generously with honey, cinnamon and walnuts.
