Ingredients

  • 400ml milk
  • 100ml double cream
  • 100g good dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
  • Pinch of salt
  • To serve: whipped cream, marshmallows, cocoa dust

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and cream in a small pan until steaming but not boiling.
  2. Whisk in the cocoa powder and sugar.
  3. Take off the heat and stir in the chocolate until completely melted.
  4. Add a pinch of salt to wake up the flavour.
  5. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows or a dusting of cocoa.
