Filipino Ensaymada

Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 200ml warm milk
  • 100g butter, softened
  • For topping: 100g softened butter, sugar, grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix dough; knead 10 minutes until very smooth.
  2. Rise 2 hours.
  3. Roll into thin rectangles; brush with softened butter; sprinkle sugar.
  4. Roll up tightly; twist into spirals.
  5. Rise another 1 hour.
  6. Bake at 180C for 18-20 minutes.
  7. Cool; brush with butter, sprinkle with sugar and cheese.
