Cuban Sandwich

Pressed Cuban bread filled with roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard — Miami's most loved lunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 sub rolls or Cuban bread, halved
  • 200g sliced roast pork (or pulled pork)
  • 100g sliced ham
  • 100g Swiss cheese, sliced
  • Sliced pickles
  • Yellow mustard
  • Butter for griddling

Instructions

  1. Butter the outside of each bread half.
  2. Layer the bottom with mustard, cheese, pork, ham and pickles.
  3. Top with the other half.
  4. Place in a hot dry pan; weight with another pan to press.
  5. Cook 3-4 minutes a side until golden and the cheese melts.
  6. Cut diagonally.
