Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 200g plain flour
  • 200g sugar
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 120ml oil
  • 250ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • For frosting: 150g dark chocolate, 100g butter, 100g icing sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 180C and line two tins.
  2. Whisk the dry ingredients.
  3. Add the eggs, oil, milk and vanilla; beat until smooth (the batter is thin).
  4. Divide between the tins and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  5. Melt the chocolate and butter, beat in the icing sugar, and frost the cooled cakes.
