Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1 cup cooked rice or breadcrumbs
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil
  • Buns and toppings

Instructions

  1. Mash the beans, leaving some texture.
  2. Mix in the rice, carrot, onion, garlic, spices, flour and seasoning.
  3. Shape into patties and chill 15 minutes.
  4. Fry in oil for 4 minutes a side until crisp and golden.
  5. Serve in buns with your favourite toppings.
