Swedish Cinnamon Buns

Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 60g sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom (ground)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 250ml warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 80g butter, softened
  • For filling: 100g softened butter, 100g brown sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg for glazing
  • Pearl sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix dough; knead 8 minutes.
  2. Rise 1 hour.
  3. Roll into a thin rectangle; spread filling.
  4. Fold in thirds; cut into strips.
  5. Twist each strip into a knot.
  6. Rise 30 minutes.
  7. Brush with egg; sprinkle pearl sugar.
  8. Bake at 200C for 12-15 minutes.
