Brazilian Pão de Mel

Ingredients

  • 250ml milk
  • 200g honey
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 60g butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 300g flour
  • 30g cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 jar dulce de leche
  • 400g dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Warm milk, honey, sugar, butter and spices until dissolved; cool.
  2. Whisk in the flour, cocoa, baking soda and baking powder.
  3. Pour into small round moulds.
  4. Bake at 180C for 18-20 minutes.
  5. Cool; slice each in half horizontally and fill with dulce de leche.
  6. Sandwich, then dip each in melted chocolate.
  7. Rest on baking paper until set.
