Nepali Momos

Plump steamed dumplings filled with spiced meat or vegetables, served with a fiery tomato chutney.

Ingredients

  • For dough: 300g flour, 150ml water, 1 tsp oil, salt
  • For filling: 400g chicken mince, 1 onion, 2 garlic, 1 tbsp ginger, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp coriander, 1 tsp garam masala, coriander, salt
  • For chutney: 3 roasted tomatoes, 2 dried red chillies, 4 garlic, 1 tbsp peanuts, salt, lime

Instructions

  1. Knead dough; rest 30 minutes.
  2. Mix filling.
  3. Roll dough thin; cut small rounds.
  4. Place filling; pleat shut.
  5. Steam 18-20 minutes.
  6. For chutney: blend everything.
  7. Eat hot.
