Indonesian Nasi Goreng

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cold cooked rice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chilli paste
  • 2 eggs
  • Sliced cucumber and tomato to serve

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil and fry the onion and garlic until soft and fragrant.
  2. Stir in the chilli paste, then add the cold rice.
  3. Toss over high heat, adding the kecap manis and soy sauce until evenly coated.
  4. Push to one side and fry the eggs in the same pan.
  5. Plate the rice, top each with a fried egg and add the cucumber and tomato.
