Ingredients

  • 500g strong flour
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300ml warm milk
  • 40g butter, softened
  • 1 egg for glazing

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, milk and butter into a soft dough.
  2. Knead for 10 minutes, then rise for 1 hour.
  3. Divide into balls and place on a tray.
  4. Rise another 30 minutes, then brush with egg.
  5. Bake at 200C for 18-20 minutes until golden.
