Beef Kofta Curry

Ingredients

  • For kofta: 500g beef mince, 1 onion grated, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp coriander, 1/2 tsp chilli, salt
  • For gravy: 2 onions, 2 tomatoes, 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp chilli, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 4 tbsp oil, coriander

Instructions

  1. Mix the kofta ingredients and roll into balls.
  2. Fry the onions until golden, add the ginger-garlic and tomatoes.
  3. Stir in the ground spices and cook until thick.
  4. Add 2 cups water and bring to a simmer.
  5. Gently drop in the kofta and simmer 25 minutes, turning once.
  6. Finish with coriander.

  • Don't stir too hard once the kofta are in, or they break.
  • Let the gravy reduce until rich.
