Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • For pastry: 350g flour, 200g cold butter, 2 tbsp sugar, cold water
  • For filling: 6 apples sliced, 100g sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp flour, 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg for glazing

Instructions

  1. Make the pastry and chill 30 minutes.
  2. Toss the apples with sugar, cinnamon, flour and lemon.
  3. Line a pie dish with half the pastry and add the filling.
  4. Top with the remaining pastry, seal and crimp the edges, and cut steam vents.
  5. Brush with egg and bake at 190C for 45-50 minutes until golden.
