Italian Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 400g beef mince
  • 200g pork mince
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 50g parmesan, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Handful parsley
  • For the sauce: 2 cans chopped tomatoes, 1 onion, 3 garlic cloves, 1 tsp oregano, olive oil, salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the meatball ingredients and shape into balls.
  2. Brown the meatballs in oil all over; set aside.
  3. For the sauce, soften the onion and garlic, add the tomatoes and oregano, simmer 15 minutes.
  4. Return the meatballs and simmer gently for 20 minutes.
